"Funny CPR"

The third prize in the Australian Resuscitation Council's inaugural YouTube Video Competition was awarded to Luke Mayze and Graeme Best for their video entry titled "Funny CPR".

The competition challenged creators to produce a 90-second educational clip for the general public, championing the ARC's catch-cry:

"Any attempt is better than no attempt."

The "Baby Shark" CPR technique

It is s a hands-only life-saving method that uses the viral children's song as a rhythmic guide for chest compressions.

The idea to use "Baby Shark" for CPR training was popularized by volunteers from the Sandpiper Wildcat Project

While "Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees is the traditional CPR anthem, EMTs and medical studies have confirmed that "Baby Shark" is equally effective.

Research indicates that singing or recalling the song's beat helps laypeople achieve the correct depth and rhythm during an emergency.
